This is the last post from Bolivia as we wind down this part of the trip.\u00a0 It’s been an incredible, crazy week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We picked up our laundry this morning. $18.00 to do a week’s worth of laundry for two people.\u00a0 Hand over the bags, get back clean, folded clothes.\u00a0 A person could get used to this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
There are a couple of small things that didn’t fit into previous posts, so here they are.\u00a0 In downtown La Paz there is Monument to Unknown Soldier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Apparently there is a bit of controversy surrounding the monument with some people calling it Monument to Drunk Person.\u00a0 Personally I like the monument, but I can see where the complaints originate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On a completely different note, Tracy and I both gravitate towards ice cream on these trips.\u00a0 We frequently visit ice cream shops.\u00a0 Enough said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last, but not least, the Teleferico. The Teleferico is a cable car system the city inaugurated in 2014. There are currently 8 active cable car lines with more under construction.\u00a0We rode the Teleferico around La Paz for a couple of hours to get a better view of the city. The pictures of the city that came out of those rides were in an earlier post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When I first saw the cable cars moving about the city, I chuckled to myself. It felt a bit quaint. How could this be a viable part of a city\u2019s transportation plan? But, after having attempted to drive the hills of La Paz, the beauty of the system makes itself evident. It is much quicker, and much less stressful, to ride a cable car to the top of the hills in La Paz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We fly out tomorrow morning, so it’s time to say goodbye to Bolivia.\u00a0 It’s been a blast.\u00a0 I wouldn’t hesitate to come back…but maybe when it’s a little warmer next time.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
